What can we say about this care home, little gem in Milton Regis? My mother-in-law had only been in there since 1at September 2023 and the staff cared and looked after her fantastically in the short time that she was there, they went above and beyond with every part of her day by day care. Always plenty of activities and events for patients and staff. Not once did she complain about moving in, they made her feel as if she was part of a family.

Mum has been at the care home now for more than four years. Staff have always been considerate and helpful, with Mum's care at the forefront. A special mention to the events team who go above and beyond to make the residents inclusive. Mum enjoys the food, which is always of a very high standard. Mum's room is one of the last to be renovated, even so, it is always tidy and clean. Thank you to all the team.

My mum has been at Blair Park care home since October 2022 and the staff have always been helpful and supportive. As Mum's needs have changed, staff have adapted their care and ensured that she is happy, well fed and personal care met. The management team are always available for a chat to check on how she is doing and are approachable and ready to listen. The meals provided for her are varied, plentiful and she has a choice at all meal times, she is also provided with snacks and drinks throughout the day and a well-needed ice cream or lolly during the hot weather. Her room is always clean and her clothes are washed daily. The entertainment staff provide activities daily and she is always encouraged to join in. Local entertainers visit and birthday celebrations are promoted. Trips out planned for different residents, this month 7 residents went to a local farm which was very well planned and last Saturday they held a Dementia walk and many residents were enabled to join in with the help of staff.

All my concerns about my mum going to live in a care home disappeared when she moved into Blair Park care home last year. Mum settled in very well. The room she was in was clean, bright and with all her personal things around her, looked lovely. The management and all the staff are wonderful, warm and friendly. They are always happy to chat at any time about Mum. They all work really hard to meet the needs of all the residents. I visit most days and the residents are always content and the staff always greet me with a smile and a cup of tea. The residents can join in with a large range of fun activities and outings organised by the entertainment coordinators. The kitchen staff provide delicious homemade meals. Also tea, coffee and treats throughout the day. Everybody is catered for. The cleaning and laundry staff work very hard to maintain a very high standard at all times. I cannot praise Blair Park enough and would highly recommend it as a happy, secure place for your loved one.

I cannot put into words just how much love and admiration I have for the lovely staff at Blair Park Care Home. My mum spent the last four years of her life at the home, a decision that we now know was the best one we could have made. She was so happy there and they became a second family to her which, for me, was so comforting as I live some distance away. Her last few months were challenging and despite the continuous support and care they gave to Mum, she ended her days there peacefully, not alone but with someone with her all the time, something I will forever be grateful for as I could not get there in time. Thank you all.

My Mum moved into Blair Park Care Home in October last year and right from the start the Management and staff have been supportive, helpful and ready to listen to concerns and discuss Mums care. Even though she has Dementia she says she wouldn't want to be anywhere else and loves her room with all her personal items. The staff are friendly and work extremely hard meeting residents needs and providing a safe and secure environment. The entertainment co-ordinators provide a variety of activities and the kitchen staff offer options for every meal and there are always snacks, cups of tea, cold drinks and a supper if wanted. The cleaning staff have their work cut out with building works going on, will be amazing when finished, and endeavour to maintain a high standard and the laundry ladies never seem to stop. I would definitely recommend Blair Park Care Home as a safe, secure and happy place to be when the time comes.

My mother has been at Blair Park care home for just over a year now, and from the very start, the staff have been amazingly caring and attentive to her with the care they provide. There is a good selection of food at meal times, and the staff always provide cups of tea etc, throughout the day. The activity coordinator does a good job of putting on events and arranging games for everyone to take part in.

My mum moved to Blair Park Care Home 2 months ago, the staff are amazing, kind, and caring and go above and beyond to ensure my mum is safe and well cared for. The manager and her team are brilliant, with great communication, and always keeping me involved in mum's care. The domestics/laundry/kitchen and maintenance teams are always happy and nothing is ever too much trouble. Mum's room is person-centred with all her own furniture and belongings around her, the food is amazing and all mum's needs are catered for. I would recommend Blair Park to anyone looking for a "home from home" for their loved one.

The care my father is getting at Blair Park care home is very good. It’s not been easy over the last year due to the pandemic, however, I am happy knowing that my father has been so well cared for during these tricky times and the staff have taken the time to inform me on how my father's wellbeing is. There is wi-fi which has given me the chance to video call my father to see how he is doing. The home is bright, spacious, well maintained and clean. Thank you.

My sister and I have nothing but praise for Blair Park. We were so pleased that the Home turned out to be everything we wanted and our mum has been so happy there during the last year. The manager and her staff are the most wonderful people; always kind, caring and loving, and nothing seems to be too much bother for them. Mum was always clean and well-fed; there were always people to talk to, and she loved to talk! someone to help her and encourage her to take part in activities she hadn't been able to enjoy for many years. I cannot fault Blair Park in any way. This past year has been such a struggle for everybody and we are full of admiration for the way all the staff has maintained such a warm and safe atmosphere for such a long time. Thank you so much, to the manager and everyone for the love you gave to mum. We are so grateful.

A big thank you comes with a sad heart that Mum has left your care. You have all been so kind and loving towards Mum from the moment she entered your care. I appreciate its not been easy for you since the start of covid, but you all have battled on and put the residents first. I will miss you all and the other resident, but will have fond memories off all the social events that you had and attended. Keep up your good work as you all deserve the highest gratitude's.

We would like to thank you and your staff for looking after our Mother so well for the past 20 months. Her health and well-being improved in leaps and bounds once she became settled at Blair Park. It was lovely to see her smartly turned out, with freshly styled hair, gloriously colourful nail polish and more often than not munching on some tasty snack! It was also great to hear of all the activities that sh had been involved with; drawing, bingo, flower arranging, raffles and even a little singing and dancing! We have no doubt that the constant social interaction along with being well nurtured help our Mother to live as full a life as possible in spite of her various physical ailments and dementia.

My sister and I chose this home for our 97 year old aunt, as we felt it had such a homely and welcoming atmosphere. We are so impressed with the way our aunt is looked after by the wonderful, kind and caring staff. Although she was reluctant to leave her flat, our aunt has thrived in this home and seems so much happier. A big thank you to all the staff at Blair Park for the care our loved one received from you during her stay. She was always so well looked after and we know just how much she appreciated your thoughtfulness and consideration of her needs. We know you have a very difficult job to do and it takes special people like you to maintain such a high level of care, sometimes in very touch circumstances. The care home is kept clean and the activities staff do a really good job in creating a pleasant atmosphere with games and music for my father and other residents. The food is excellent and the management are accessible if and when I have any questions about my father's health.

I found it very difficult having to look for a care home for my dad, it wasn’t easy trying to find a care home which could give him the care he needed. However, after looking at many care homes I decided that Charing House Care & Nursing Home was the best place for him. The staff at Charing House are very kind, caring and I am confident that he is in the best place he possibly can be. He enjoys the company of the other residents and the home is clean and activities are provided on a daily basis.

I couldn’t have wished to have chosen a better care home for my father to be cared by. Thank you all.

My father's room is comfortable, has en-suite facilities and is well furnished. Charing House has a large dining room, lounge and has a beautiful, fully accessible garden. The staff are attentive, kind, caring, patient and keep me informed of any medical issues that may occur with my father and make the necessary arrangements to see the dentist, nurse etc. My father is offered plenty of food, which he enjoys and is of good quality.

There is no doubt in my mind that choosing Charing House Care & Nursing Home was the right decision for my mum. I would like to say how lovely all the staff have been in Barry Wing with GB's move to Charing House. Everyone is friendly & approachable & I have never at any stage been made to feel that I am a nuisance with my worries & enquiries. GB has many complex issues & I know that transferring GB & getting used to her ways & needs is not easy. What I have loved is they are not too proud to talk to me & ask me questions or ask where to go to get the answers, which feels me full of confidence that they will find the answers if they do not have them yet. I have been able to bring all GB's furniture & general 'stuff' so that her room is set up nice for her needs & comfort. Also that she has some familiar bits around her. The home is beautifully decorated & well cared for. Management approachable & friendly. The care staff stick around because of this & one thing that lets you know all is as well as can be, is staff that are happy to stay in their jobs. Jenny (member of staff) is especially lovely & said 'that she would look after GB like she was her own'. I cannot ask for any more from someone.

Charing House is set in a great location, overlooking Gillingham Park which is easily accessible for its residents. Our service user was the first to join the LD nursing wing after being in a hospital environment for approx. 12 years. The management at Charing House, and staff on the Barry Hodgman wing consistently work in a person-centred manner and did their best to ensure a smooth transition for this individual, avoiding what could have been a destabilising time for him. The staff strive to improve each individual's quality of life and the residents currently on the wing appear happy and content.

My mother has been at Charing House for a while now. I am really happy with the care Mum receives. Mum always looks happy and healthy so I really can’t ask for anymore. Charing House built a pagoda earlier in the year and last time I was there I saw Mum and all the residents outside under the pagoda, while there was a singer there performing to them all. It is such a great thing for them to have built and has certainly been very good throughout Covid-19 as they are continuing with these special activities that I know my Mum enjoys.

During the current climate, all I can say is a very big thank you for taking such great care over my sister. She always, when I spoke to her, seemed happy with the care she received. When I had concerns and worries I was always able to speak with staff nurses and admin regularly and if not available they would phone me back. Her key worker also put my mind at rest. Our Dads home was Charing House, Gillingham for the last 3 years of his life. He was not only cared for but he was loved by the members of staff as though they were his own family. Each time we took him out for days, upon return, he would always comment "I Love It Here". The meals and snacks are varied and of an exceptionally high standard, we know this as we have always been welcome to take a meal with Dad. We first introduced Dad to the home as a 5* Hotel to settle him in. This would be the same today as the food, snacks, facilities, cleanliness, hygiene and above all the Staff are of an exceptionally high standard. All of Dads family would highly recommend this home to anyone that has Dementia.

Set in the original Municipal Buildings, Charing House is directly adjacent to Gillingham Park and therefore gives a relaxing outlook from many of the residents' rooms and also the facility for residents to be able to walk with their families around the park, if sufficiently mobile to do so. In our opinion, care is of a high standard at Charing House and we have been very happy with how our loved one is treated. My mum has been at Chips since my dad died, last April and we're very happy with the care that she has received. Mum has dementia but always enjoys company and the care staff have always been so friendly and caring towards her. They all know her name and have been great at settling her in and paying attention to her particular needs. The carers are very gentle with her as Mum now needs a lot more help due to her dementia progression. They also learnt very quickly who all the family members are and are always happy to chat with us if we or they have any concerns. There's also a lovely activities lady who is working really hard to keep everyone engaged and active.

I was devastated when my wife (forty-eight years married) had to go into permanent care due to advanced Alzheimer's. After visiting numerous care homes I settled on Chippendayle Lodge Care Home and in retrospect, six months after moving in, my dear wife is as happy and settled as she could be. What a great decision that was! The well trained staff treat her with utmost care and respect. I have visited her virtually every day since she has been there and if I have any questions, concerns or issues they are dealt with and resolved immediately by the management. My opinion therefore is that the home is exceptionally well led by a highly competent Manager, Assistant Manager and senior Health Care Assistant, all of whom display genuine care and compassion in their tough and challenging roles. The recent appointment of a new Activities coordinator has added a huge additional benefit to the residents who now enjoy lots of varied and enjoyable activities each day.

My dad booked to move in as he has Alzheimer’s and living on his own was getting too much for him as I was worried he may have an accident. We read other reviews and went to have a look around. From the first meeting, the manager couldn’t have been more welcoming and went out her way to make my dad and myself feel at ease with the decision to take a place. Unfortunately, my dad went into hospital the day before the moving date but without any questions, the manager unpacked all his personal belongings ready for his arrival, this ended up being a few weeks later and dads condition had deteriorated over the weeks in hospital but he was still able to move in as planned. All the staff are friendly and handle dads sense of humour well, happy to give me regular updates on dads progress and health, dignity and personal care is carried out perfectly by all the staff and dad has settled in well, I’m sure this has a lot to do with the way the staff treat him and the regular cups of tea and biscuits on offer!

Mum is always beautifully dressed, wearing makeup and her nails done and speaks highly and with real affection for the staff. The staff really do care for their residents and their families as individuals and nothing was too much trouble for them. The atmosphere in the home as a result is uplifting, head and shoulders above any other home we looked at. This is what we wanted for Mum. Being in Hillbeck enabled us to spend time with Mum without worrying about the distractions of her everyday living, as the staff did all of this. Having looked at many care homes before choosing Hillbeck I can safely say I made the right choice, the care that has been given to my mother has been amazing. The staff are all so caring towards her and they take the time to speak to her throughout the day. There is a good selection of food with plenty of tea and coffee offered during the course of the day and her room is kept neat and tidy.

The staff and management at Hillbeck care home are first class with the care they give to my mother and other residents. The management team do an excellent job in keeping myself and my family informed on how our mother is doing, which is of great comfort to us. The cook and catering staff produce wholesome food and the housekeeping team do a great job in keeping all areas of the care home clean and smelling fresh.

I would like to thank each and every one of the wonderful people that work at this home. From January 2020 they looked after my father who suffered from dementia which became progressively worse until he passed away in October this year. The care he was given was exceptional and he was always treated as an individual and encouraged to do what he enjoyed. From the moment I first arrived with him, you could feel the happy atmosphere and see the people in your care were happy and well looked after, it felt like I was leaving him with family. Everyone I met at this home was friendly and helpful and you could see they truly cared about the loved ones we entrusted to them. During the Covid lockdown, they worked in difficult conditions but still made you feel welcome and kept us informed of all measures they were taking and why to keep our loved ones safe. I really cannot find the words to express my true thanks to these wonderful people who looked after my beloved father so well.

We looked at 17 homes. It was a depressing time. None of them felt right. Then we found Hillbeck. Thank God, we did. We just had a good feeling. Throughout Mum’s stay, we were always so pleased and impressed by the care she was given by all of you. She wasn’t one for crowds or music, and we know you gave her room to be herself. You treated her with the greatest care and dignity. We felt like you treated her like you would your own family. The peace of mind that gave us is simply immeasurable. You gave us the same love &care over the last few days, as we had to say goodbye to Mum. It was overwhelmingly emotional. You carried us through. One of the last things Dad said to us, was make sure Mum is looked after, won’t you? Because of you, and only because of you, we can say we did. There are no words in this world to adequately thank you for the love and care you gave my precious Mum in the last years of her life. Every single one of you are walking angels. We’re about to become grandparents ourselves. If, in a few years’ time, our granddaughter asks, ‘Are there angels in heaven, Grandad? I’m going to say, ‘Yes, but there’s some a lot nearer than that, they gather together at Hillbeck, and do wonderful acts of kindness for people who need them most – There’s definitely angels in this world, darling’

My mum has been at Hillbeck Residential Care Home for some time now and during her stay there I have found the staff to be fantastic in the care they have given to her. I’ve always felt welcomed when I’ve come in to visit my mum and should my mum have any medical appointments the managers are prompt in letting me know when and what the appointments are for and why it’s needed. Hillbeck Residential Care Home has been where my mother has lived since September 2018. Since she moved in, she has been very well looked after. The home is always spotless; indeed it always smells clean and fresh, and I have no reason to think it has changed since lockdown. I visited my mother at the weekend for the first time since the beginning of March and, at all times, the staff ensured that my visit (within the current regulations that the home enforces) was as good as it could be. I met my mother in the courtyard and the staff ensured our safety was paramount. The visit was for 15-minutes only, but as there was not a visit immediately following mine, I was able to have a slightly extended visit. Much appreciated. I am extremely lucky that my mother is a resident at Hillbeck; she is happy and is very well looked after in a spotlessly clean environment. What more can I ask for?

I would recommend Hillbeck Care Home without any hesitation to anyone needing support. The care they provide is absolutely outstanding, earlier this year I had to place my father in care as his dementia was escalating and my mother was unable to care for him properly any longer. My father was placed at Hillbeck for respite care and due to the extremely high standard of care he received there I requested that he become a resident as he was so happy there and I certainly didn’t want to cause him distress by moving him somewhere else. Since being there I have seen a real improvement both in his abilities, self-confidence and his level of happiness and this is due to the wonderful people that work at the home as it is evident to me that everyone that works at this home genuinely cares about the people they look after and do all they can to support them in any way they can. I really can’t express how much I appreciate all that's been done for my father as he is now actually enjoying life again.

All the staff at Hillbeck care home are great, nothing is ever too much trouble, and the staff are always in good spirits. You are always made to feel welcome, the staff ask how you are, and if there is anything they can do for you; should there be anything you need all you need to do is ask, and they’ll be more than happy to help. The home is odour free and kept very clean. There is plenty of outdoor space for the residents, and the home has an activity coordinator who organises a range of events and games for the residents.

I live 250 miles from Hillbeck so having trust and faith in how my 90-year-old aunt was treated was paramount in my thoughts, not as though I could 'pop in' at a moments notice, and I also had local friends who visited regular, so kept me informed as to what was happening. My wife and I have been visiting our dear old neighbour in Hillbeck on a weekly basis for the past two years and have always found the management and staff to be polite informative and helpful. My wife and I were instrumental in getting our dear friend placed in the care of Hillbeck after she suffered a really nasty fall and was hospitalized for some 5 weeks overcoming her injuries and loss of memory from her fall. I believe we are in a perfect position to make a sound judgement and assessment of care homes due to the fact that my wife and myself are members of a ukulele band that visits many different care homes around kent entertaining the residents with sing-along sessions, we have probably played in around 30 different care homes and I can honestly say that in our opinion Hillbeck is by far the most spacious, brightest, and enjoyable place to take our band to entertain the residents who along with the staff enjoy these sing-along sessions.

Dear Kerry & Heather, I wanted to express my most sincere thanks for looking after mum so well, especially in her last months before she passed away on 9th July 2018. Before you arrived Kerry, both myself & my family had had serious concerns about the ongoing care of Mum, soon after Mum came to Hillbeck approximately four years ago, to such an extent we considered moving mum somewhere else. We found such a massive improvement in the quality, motivation & attitude, of all your staff since you have taken over Kerry, it was a huge relief for all Mums family. When the time came to choose between Mum staying at Hillbeck or being hospitalised the choice was easy. We had so much confidence with all staff at Hillbeck care home to look after mums complex, specialist needs. Knowing mum was not alone in her last hours is a great comfort. We were extremely pleased to see Brian & Sheila at Mums service, they both add an extra "sparkle" to Hillbeck. Kerry, you have found some wonderful staff & volunteers for which we are extremely grateful, please extend our thanks to them all.

Just a note to pass on some positive feedback on my visit to Hillbeck with a view for respite for a friends husband who has early stage dementia. When we arrived there was a staff meeting so a young woman called Sally was asked to show us round. Sally is House Keeper/Receptionist. Having visited two other care homes earlier in the day we both came out of Hillbeck on a high. Sally was very warm and welcoming and is clearly passionate about the service provided by the staff at Hillbeck, stating several times during the tour how each resident is treated as an individual . Sally coped extremely well with a resident who was insistent about going outside, we were very impressed. Please pass on our sincere thanks to Sally and make sure her manager knows how lucky she is to have her on her team. All the staff we came across during our visit were very smiley and pleasant to each other.

Having the dilemma of your elderly family member suddenly needing permanent full-time safe care is a difficult decision at the best of times. When 250 miles separate the closest members of the family, that decision is much more difficult. Hillbeck Residential Care Home was a recommendation from my relative's neighbour having researched and visited local care homes in the area. One year on my satisfaction is immense. She has a lovely room she calls her 'flat'. Constant Care, medical and personal. Loves the company of the staff and feels the staff love her. The choice to "join in" or not to join in the many events is up to my relative, encouraged but not intimidated. A constantly changing weekly events programme. She enjoys her food, meals she recognised and enjoys, (slowly putting on weight). Constantly kept up to date if and when problems arise, safety and security excellent and with an excellent "engine room" of admin staff who make sure all units function as expected: I can relax feeling that my family member is well cared for so far away at Hillbeck Residential Care Home.

My mother's residency in a care home filled me with dread. She is 96 years old, a widow with dementia and macular degeneration. She has been a resident for 2 years and I have watched the interaction between staff/residents with growing admiration when dealing with their needs. The building is bright and the atmosphere is gently vibrant. Singing and laughter is often heard. Much is due to the appointment of the new manager some 18 months ago. Extraordinary effort is taken to stimulate interest and thereby enhance the quality of life of each resident.

My Mum has been at Hillbeck for almost years 6 years. It's such a happy home. All staff are dedicated and caring, ready to help or answer questions at all times. Some may be pushing cleaning trollies, delivering laundry, water just etc., - always busy, but make time for you and always answer Mum if she wants to talk to them. Food is excellent, - nutritious, varied and interesting. Always informed if the Doctor has had to see her. Good variation of entertainment and craftwork - carer very talented. When taking her back to Hillbeck, either by ambulance or taxi, from outings she's tired, always says "Glad to be home"! Means everything to me. Have nothing but praise for all members of staff at Hillbeck - they've made her 'Home'.

Park View’s staff have all been truly wonderful and caring to my Mum. All of the staff have shown great respect, care, kindness and love towards her. Not only do they show their care for residents, but they have also been very supportive of me and my family. The atmosphere of the home is pleasant, calm and it has an inviting feel. The home is kept spotlessly clean and the garden is beautifully kept.

My uncle has been a resident for about 6 months. He has always been a very private man but all the staff have helped him to settle in. He now willingly lets them assist him with all his daily needs, shaving, showering etc. He is now always dressed in clean clothes, this did not happen when he was at home. I have seen him laugh and smile more now than ever before as the staff have a fantastic repour with him. The activities lady has found a skill he had forgotten he had and now spends many hours with pencils in his hand. This lady works so hard helping everyone. All staff are very approachable.

My uncle went to Park View July 2019. He had led a very quiet life and found living with so many people difficult. Everyone has helped him to adjust to his new life. When I visit I have seen all the carers treating the residents as though they are family members, chatting to them, holding their hands, showing them affection in a caring way. All of which the residents seem to appreciate. Truly a home from home.

My mother has been a resident in this care home for 6 years and I have seen much improvement especially in the last two years. She is a dementia patient and as a result not always easy to manage. The staff are all lovely and I can see they like and respect her and give her the care that she needs. The food is very well cooked and very enticing although I have not yet taken up the offer to eat with my mother. She is always clean, well presented and dressed in her own clothes. Well done Park View and all your staff.

Mum came to Rosewood care home in May 2023 after a bad fall at home and needing 24-hour care. She has dementia. Rosewood care home has an excellent management team. Staff in all areas of the home work effectively as a team to ensure Mum is well cared for. The management team and staff are accessible and approachable. Any concerns are followed up and addressed promptly and appropriately. The staff are professional, exceptionally kind and care for Mum with dignity and compassion. The food is great, the kitchen is very flexible with her needs, and she is treated as an individual. She is encouraged to be as independent as she is able, and support is always on hand when she can't manage so well. Where before she was withdrawn, she now happily joins in with activities which ease her anxiety and help her mood and motivation. Our family has had a warm welcome from Rosewood, and they have exceeded our expectations. We are confident that Mum's physical, mental and emotional needs are being met.

Moving nan to a home was the hardest decision but I feel incredibly lucky that we got this home as from the moment I was contacted to now the experience has been outstanding. The staff have an obvious love for the residents and this is shown all the time. They all do this with little thanks from the residents but I know that as a family we are incredibly grateful. For me everyone has been so supportive and especially in times when nan has been unwell, taken to hospital and on other occasions. Being able to spend time with nan in the home at these times means a lot. I have to say that even though the staff are run off their feet they still made sure I was watered and fed! It's at these times you can observe the home running and this is where all the staff shine. From the nurses, cleaners, and cooks, they are all brilliant in their care and interactions with the residents. This is a brilliant home and one I would recommend as they truly do care.

I'm writing this for anyone who is in the same difficult position we once were, trying to find the BEST home for a loved one and not knowing where to start! I hope it helps to reassure you of how incredible Rosewood is and how caring the staff are! Nan moved into a different care home in September 2020 after we could no longer care for her. It was the most difficult time, especially with the pandemic. Unfortunately Nan didn't settle well, and for various other reasons, we decided to move her. We first spoke to Rosewood's Manager, Carol, who got back to us straight away and answered all our questions. We were so worried about moving Nan again, but Carol went above and beyond to advise and reassure us. We confirmed Nan's place at Rosewood and Carol was so helpful and always available (in comparison, I was never able to get a response or speak to the previous home Manager). Not only that, Nan's new room was redecorated to her taste to ensure she felt at home. As Nan's moving day approached, the pandemic kept throwing curveballs, plus it was between Christmas and NY. Nevertheless, Carol was flexible about the whole situation and focused on accommodating whatever was best and safest for Nan. As Nan arrived at Rosewood, there was an entourage of staff waiting to welcome her and they couldn't have been nicer to me as I once again said goodbye not knowing when I'd see her next. Since then Nan has settled in extremely well and we've had regular calls and updates. Sadly, Rosewood, like so many other homes, has had to deal with COVID. This was of course worrying but Carol and the team have worked hard and tirelessly to keep Nan safe and keep us updated with weekly emails. What's more, whilst working long hours and prioritising care, the team have taken the time to video call so Nan could see us! Carol and the team put their hearts and souls into taking care of all the residents at Rosewood. Nan's care is personalised to her needs and they encourage her to be as independent as possible. They don't let Nan's dementia define her, which is so refreshing! Carol has even coloured Nan's hair whilst the hairdresser cannot visit because Nan's appearance is so important to her. We have now been able to see Nan via a window visit and Nan is once again looking well, healthy and so happy! This is all thanks to Carol and the team! Plus, we cannot forget Buddy the dog, who Nan is in love with! I really hope this helps you with your decision, you will not regret putting your loved ones care into the hands of the wonderful Carol, Kerry and all the Rosebuds!

It is a pleasure to look after Rosewood, and I am always impressed with the care you give the residents and the support your seniors give me- can I make a special mention of Vicky D, who has been fantastic. It is clear when I read emails from relatives and speak to them, how impressed and happy they are with the Rosewood team- so thank you and keep up the good work. You are right we will beat COVID and there is some light at the end of the tunnel with vaccinations, but for now I am hoping and praying for the residents and staff at this incredibly difficult time for you all, and remain here when you need me.

Rosewood gives me peace of mind that my mother is treated with kindness and dignity. She tells me the meals are always good and staff are kind and good to her. Rosewood have an active social calendar with singers, entertainers and animal events that the residents love. From time to time they take trips to the seaside or local venues and games at the home that stimulate the mind and brain. Mum has been a resident of Rosewood Care Home for almost 7 years. The staff have always shown affection towards her and go out of their way to sit and talk to her when she seems to be in distress. This is quite a regular requirement as she has vascular dementia. Even staff employed in other areas will take the time to sit with the residents and listen to them. During my visits I can see that the staff are all very caring and go out of their way to provide a home from home environment in an understanding and sympathetic way. Prior to finding St Stephen's I viewed very many homes looking for that special place that would feel like home. I am very pleased that my brother-in-law is being cared for at St Stephen's. He has multiple physical and mental disabilities and is very dependent, in fact now confined to a wheelchair. We recently attended a BBQ at the home which allowed us to meet other residents and their families. We were happy to contribute to improving the garden area to make it more desirable and therefore more likely to be used in fine weather. I feel fresh air is essential especially when movement is restricted. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and give us information about my brother-in-law's health as requested. Most importantly my brother-in-law seems very settled at the home. We have even been able to get him delivered to a local park in his wheelchair to celebrate his birthday. He has had several hospital visits/stays and staff have been very supportive including staying with him or visiting him if we could not get there due to being away.

My son has settled very well and is very receptive to the nursing staff attending to his many needs, which are comforting for the family. My brother has been a resident at St Stephen's for over 6-months, and I could not be happier with the care given. From our first visit, we could see that the staff were providing more than just care, they were building relationships, there was laughter and a general upbeat feel. We were very impressed with the manager, who, we could tell, was always looking for ways to improve the lives of residents while providing top-level care. She is not a manager who sits in her office all day! My brother recently had to be admitted to A&E, where we spent 6-hours with one of the nursing assistants from St Stephen's. We had plenty of time to talk, and I was so impressed with everything I heard. There was genuine concern and a desire to put the needs of my brother first. From that conversation and from the actions of all at St Stephen's, I know my brother is in the best hands. Care information is always shared, and there is always a cheery welcome when I visit. Thank you all.

Everyone at St Stephen's is proud of the work they do and work together to give consistent support to the residents living there. I always receive a friendly welcome, both in person and via telephone. I'm kept informed and feel included in the plan of support/care for my friend. Everyone takes an interest in the people they support and naturally create a family/caring atmosphere whilst maintaining a professional, secure environment. I feel relieved to have found such a great home and am confident that my friend is receiving the best possible care.

St Stephen's has a family atmosphere and is always running activities that enrich the lives of their residents. I am kept well informed of my sister's needs and well-being. She is always happy when we speak, telling me of her involvement in cooking and other activities. The photograph displays also promote how much is given to these special people. I feel safe and reassured that St Stephen's is the place for my sister to be living.

My sister has now been at St Stephen's for over seven years. The last few months, I have noticed a change in her, needing far more care, noticeably more on my recent visit. The staff are brilliant with her, as she now needs hoisting, which is done with dignity and great care. Her food is now puréed, but all elements of the meal are kept separate so still looks appetising. The manager and all her staff are very professional, approachable and I cannot recommend St Stephen's highly enough. I know my sister is safe and happy, and that if there was a problem, I would be informed.

My late brother was in care at St Stephen's for 4 years and although his first year he found difficult, after that until his death on April 19th 2017, he was very happy. The home was filled with love and happiness and it showed. The carers did more than their jobs worth with everything they did. Not only did the residents get a hug, so did we as relatives on arrival, it was and still is lovely, as I still go down to see some of the residents and they are all so very happy and loved. It's a 70 mile round trip for me but I still want to do it, because it's worth it.

I have been visiting for more than three years, first as a friend of a person previously living there. I have never been in a more friendly and welcoming home. Since visiting the first time as a friend of a brother of one of the inhabitants. I have, unofficially, become 'Grandma' of another inhabitant. Whatever time of day or day of the week we visit, conditions are always the same - friendly, welcoming and everyone in a happy contented state!

My sister has been a resident at St Stephen's for over 5 years, and during that time she has been extremely well cared for. Sadly over the last few months, her mobility has deteriorated. She now needs to be hoisted, as she gets very worried about standing. The staff are wonderful with her, very patient, considerate, and respect her dignity. It is a great relief to know that her needs are being met so well. St Stephens had a new manager last year which is always a worry. The new manager is wonderful with the residents and staff and carrying on in the same vein as the previous one who was really lovely. The meals and entertainment provided are first rate and I would have no hesitation in recommending St Stephen's Nursing Home.

My mum has been a resident of The Oast Care Home for several months. Over this period, she’s experienced deteriorating health. However, the excellent care she receives has meant that she remains comfortable, pain-free and happy. The staff are friendly, professional, helpful and diligent. Mostly they’ve been proactive in seeking equipment vital to mum’s care including the facilitation of a specialist cushion and mattress. During what has been a challenging time for care homes, due to COVID 19, the management has kept my family informed of my mother’s health. It is to the credit of the whole team that the home so far remains COVID free. I extend my gratitude to all staff from cleaners, carers, chef, and management for taking such good care of my wonderful mum. Throughout the pandemic, the group has provided information on visiting and precautions as and when new government guidance has been available. When visiting has not been possible, they have enabled Skype and phone calls.

Dad has been at The Vale Care Home for over a year now, sadly his dementia has advanced during this time and he is now almost nonverbal. The staff and new manager are fantastic, finding ways to communicate with him and his reaction to them is a clear sign of just how they all understand him and his ways and needs. He is such a quiet gentleman, so we worried he might just blend in and be forgotten when he couldn't communicate. Recently he had a short stay in hospital and staff came to do an assessment for him returning back to The Vale, Dad recognised her straight away and held onto her hand trying his best to follow instructions from her when he wasn't really engaging with hospital staff. Again this is a clear demonstration of how they take the time to engage with residents to really understand them. It truly makes the experience for us, as a family, so much easier seeing him content and genuinely cared for. Thank you.

The manager and the manager's assistant have been outstanding in their support and guidance through the whole process of moving my mother from her previous respite care home to her permanent care at The Vale care home. Always available for advice and guidance through what has been a very stressful period for the whole family. Ensuring both my mother's and family's priorities have been taken care of. My aunt has been living at The Vale for four years. My brother and I chose the home for its kind, friendly staff, and the happy atmosphere in the lounge. Importantly, she is happy, always well cared for, and loves the carers. When we could visit, I would turn up unannounced, and always received a warm welcome. I've been impressed with the knowledge and understanding of my aunt's developing dementia, and always touched by the staff's compassion. That is always shown to her, but I've experienced it myself too, when I was bereaved a couple of years ago. I have often been impressed at the calm atmosphere in the home, which accommodates people who can get agitated or confused; the staff are on hand immediately when someone needs reassuring. I like the practice of staff completing paperwork in the lounge, so they are present, and can help quickly. No regrets about choosing The Vale for my aunt. It is her home, and I dearly hope she is able to stay there as long as she needs a place to live.

My mother has degenerative dementia and can only manage with high levels of care. She is happy and content in The Vale and has never complained about her care or treatment. During this last year she has been kept safe from Covid and certainly, at 90, she would not have survived if still living in the community. Although we have had only weekly window visits we have no reason to be concerned about her care. Although isolated from her real family during this unusual year we know she is happy with her new Vale family.

The decision to move Mum into a care home was really difficult, however, once my Mum moved into The Vale, I found the staff supportive towards her, helping her with her day-to-day living. The manager is approachable, and nothing is ever too much trouble. My Mum's room is spacious and is kept clean.

The staff at the Vale are available to talk and discuss any issues with my mum. The staff are kind and helpful and also caring towards all residents and family members visiting. My mum is always well cared for and happy. The staff always ensure that her safety is their first priority. There are always the same staff who are smiling, happy and always welcome us when we visit mum. The staff there are so lovely, welcoming and friendly. We have not seen Mum as happy for years as she was at The Vale. She loved it there. The manager and her deputy are amazing and they get to know them individually and what works for each of them to make them happy. We can’t thank them enough for getting to know her so well and being able to help her so much. We have some amazing photos of Mum joining in with the great activities. The manager and team certainly have created a loving place there.

The staff are hard working and I admire them for the job they do. I find them friendly and polite. I now have peace of mind that my mother is safe and has the level of care that I could no longer provide. I visit mum 2-3 times a week and have gotten to know the staff, so I have confidence in their abilities - if mum's not well, they call the doctor (antibiotics this month). If her teeth go missing, they contact the dentist.

From the moment that Mum arrived at Woodside care home, she was treated with the utmost care and respect. Her room was clean, warm, and welcoming. I love the fact that all residents are encouraged to go to the day room rather than be left alone in their room, though if wanted, they can. Mum has been encouraged to go to daytime activities, which she has done. The food is more than adequate and Mum enjoys everything that is cooked for her. The staff interacts with the residents, by sitting and chatting, cuddling them or just making them laugh. The main thing for me is that my Mum is happy and contented. Nobody wants to put their loved ones into a home, but if they are happy, it helps so much.

My father has been in here since October, he settled in so quickly and it's not hard to see why. The building is beautiful, very clean, tidy and homely and the staff, every single one I've met, including the kitchen team, are just great! So friendly and kind! Nothing is too much trouble it seems. Today I had trouble with the snow when trying to collect Dad to take him out for lunch, unable to head out the staff invited me in instead. They happily sat me down for Sunday lunch which was really good, a big roast beef. I watched the staff treat each and every resident with care and kindness, way above and beyond what I would have expected all that time ago before Dad first moved in. I am so grateful to the whole team for the care and support they give my dad! Thank you from us all!

We moved Mum to Woodside in January 2020, from another local care home. I wasn't happy with the way Mum was being treated, so my main priority was a high standard of care and sense of dignity. Woodside has this in spades. From the start, I could tell it was a caring, homely environment where care is taken very seriously, from comfort and the floor pads which alert staff to residents getting out of bed, to medication. The carers were all doing just that, caring. Not sitting about, filling in paperwork and ignoring residents' needs or chatting to each other. The place is bustling with staff and the delicious food never stops coming out (from the huge kitchen) which suits Mum! She was welcomed by everyone and sat down with a nice cuppa and afternoon tea. The place is dated and being renovated, so don't judge it on aesthetics – if you look closely, everyone feels at home, so it actually feels just right for the residents. And the manager is super responsive to my questions and concerns.

Woodside is an exceptional care home. Just before Christmas 2019, my mother was unwell and couldn’t stay at home. Management recognised our predicament and immediately allowed my mother to stay with them for respite care. All of the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they have taken away the concerns and worries of looking after an elderly relative. Mum had always intended to return home with a private care support service but having spent time living at Woodside, Mum decided to stay on as a permanent resident. As a family, we are confident that Mum is being well looked after. She has plenty to eat and plenty of cups of tea. There are organised activities and always staff around to support the residents. Outside of the coronavirus lockdown, we are able to visit Mum at any time. I would definitely recommend Woodside to others looking for a care home.

My father has been a resident since June 2015. He initially found it hard to adjust but the management and staff made the difficult transition as smooth as possible. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. Dad was provided with all his needs in a caring compassionate and safe environment. The staff have a very good understanding of the demands of residents with dementia, which I am sure gives their care a premium edge. Dad celebrated his 90th birthday recently and when he returned after, we took him out for lunch and a nice surprise awaited him on his return, a party with entertainment. It really made his day. We have always been made welcome when we visit and we are always asked if we would like a cup of tea or coffee. One of the most welcoming aspects of Woodside has been the peace of mind that their care has brought to us. They care about the wider family, not just the resident. This was most evident when my father passed away recently after a short illness. Thank you all at Woodside.

It's a year on - Mum has been at Woodside care home since August 2016. My two sisters and I each visit the care home weekly and are extremely pleased with the level of care our mum receives. Mum is not very sociable and keeps strange hours - but we are impressed with the level of attentiveness Mum receives. As soon as we get there the care assistant will tell us where she is, they seem to know exactly where each of their residents are at any given moment. Even though Mum is not particularly sociable she still gets included in outings and enjoys these little trips out. Whenever my sisters or myself visit we are welcomed with a smile and never feel we are getting in the way. Very happy with Woodside care home, thank you to all the staff.

Residents are treated like kings and queens and are constantly asked if they are alright. All staff are familiar with resident's names which add a personal touch and ensures a homely atmosphere. The home always has a warm and bright atmosphere and the team always very caring, creating a cosy and family feeling for residents and visitors. We have always been kept fully informed of her health and any other issues, and had a good level of communication with the team, especially during our weekly visits. I can not praise Jan, Jenny and the staff at Woodside for there dedication, hard work and caring professional approach not only to their clients, but there family members is exempt and very supportive whatever the situation maybe.
